I’ve always believed that life is better with a good book, a great playlist, and something worth talking about.

Welcome to Well Versed-ish, a little corner of the internet where medicine meets music, literature meets life, and having an opinion is practically a personality trait.

The name? Well, I’m glad you asked.

To be “well-versed” is to be knowledgeable, informed, and familiar with a subject. And as someone who loves a good lyrical masterpiece just as much as an intellectually stimulating conversation, I appreciate a word with more than one meaning.

But the -ish? That’s intentional.

Because no matter how much I read, study, experience, or think I know, life has a funny way of reminding me that I’m still learning. And frankly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

So, what’s the story?

I’m a woman with a love for literature, an appreciation for a perfectly placed Jay-Z lyric, and goals so big that sometimes it gets scary. Somewhere between studying science, collecting books, loving love, curating playlists, and navigating the beautiful absurdity of adulthood, I realized I had quite a few things to say.

Some of them profound. Some of them questionable. All of them worth exploring.

Here, you’ll find personal essays about love, relationships, and the art of figuring yourself out; reflections on my journey into medicine; books that deserve a conversation long after the final page; and the occasional unsolicited opinion about whatever has captured my attention.

And because music has always been one of my favorite ways to make sense of the world, don’t be surprised if a familiar song title sets the tone for a story. Consider it a literary experience with its own soundtrack.

The philosophy

I don’t believe you have to have everything figured out to have something meaningful to contribute to the conversation.

You can be ambitious and uncertain. Intellectual and ridiculous. Soft and outspoken. A work in progress and a woman who knows exactly what she brings to the table.

Contradictions make for interesting characters. And even better stories.

Well Versed-ish is about embracing all of it—the knowledge, the curiosity, the growth, the mistakes, the plot twists, and the occasional moment when the lyrics explain it better than I ever could.

So pull up a chair. Bring your curiosity, your favorite book, and preferably a good playlist.
